This places the county’s toll at 53.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to all the families during this very difficult time, the District shared in a tweet which included an updated look at current local pandemic numbers (see below).

This week has also seen a continuing increase in the number of positive COVID-19 results for students and staff members in Delaware County Schools. A total of 122 were reported this week, surpassing the high set three weeks ago.

Districts or private schools where cases were reported this week include:

  • Big Walnut — 14 students, 3 staff
  • Buckeye Valley — 14 students, 1 staffDACC — 10 students 2 staff
  • Delaware City — 9 students, 9 staf
  • Olentangy Local — 51 students, 18 staff
  • St. Mary — 1 student
  • This represents a total of 99 students and 23 staff members

Westerville Schools, located in both Franklin and Delaware Counties, reports to the latter. This week, it had 35 students and 18 teachers test positive.

As a continuing reminder, “A report of COVID-19 should not be interpreted as an indicator that a school district or school isn’t following proper procedures—school cases can be a reflection of the overall situation in the broader community. Families and staff should always feel free to ask questions of the school district or school.”
