From former bank to future watering hole – that is the course that Jassen Holderby has in mind for what was the Chase Bank at 45 East Granville Street on the Square in Sunbury. With a background both in bartending and in building renovation, that decision came naturally. Holderby owns local contracting firm J. Holderby Renovations. On June 11, closing took place on the property, which is set to become Delaware County’s newest eating, spirits, and event location, called District 13.

Sure, cocktails will be on tap, but so will be live entertainment including bands, comedy, magicians, and more. The venue’s new website indicates that dancing will be featured in the downstairs “speakeasy.”

Holderby is hoping for an August opening date.
