Hot Chicken Takeover, a community-minded social enterprise founded in 2014, has opened their fifth restaurant in Westerville after a delay caused by a redesign. Located off Polaris Parkway, their newest location features a convenient pick-up window for to-go orders and a patio.
“We have a lot of enthusiastic customers in Westerville and Lewis Center, we’re excited to better serve them with the opening of this new location,” shares Joe DeLoss, Hot Chicken Takeover’s Founder and CEO.

Dining options in Delaware County continue to grow, as another new restaurant has opened with an eye toward the future.
Levant: Elevated Mediterranean Eatery replaces the former What’s for Doner location at Polaris Fashion Place Mall. It opened earlier this month.
The restaurant seeks to create healthful and delicious Mediterranean-inspired food with an American sensibility, according to its new website. Dishes include wraps, rice bowls, salads, kebabs, pita breads, and unique sauces. More…

In a recent meeting, Columbus City Council extended tax increment financing agreements (TIF) originally dating to 1996 to encourage private investment in the Polaris area, as well as in other areas of the city.
In total, the package is aimed at creating $1 billion in new private investment, to create 20,000 jobs, and to generate more than $146 million in new tax revenues.
One of the beneficiaries of this revenue will be Olentangy Local Schools. The TIF agreements do not impact school funding. The local districts will receive due property taxes. More…

In an announcement on its Facebook page earlier this month, the venerable Carfagna’s Market, a staple of the north side of Columbus since the early 1970s, announced that it is opening the new “Carfagna’s Famous Market & Ristorante” this coming spring.
The Dublin-Granville location will close as will the current Carfagna’s Kitchen on Polaris Parkway.
The new facility, which will include not only the current operations but also a deli, liquor shop, and expanded tasting venues will be located at 1440 Gemini Place in 27,000 square feet. More…

Columbus Business First reported this week that the three story office building at 8740 Orion Place has sold to Brad Kitchen of Alterra Real Estate Advisors with a price tag of $4.9 million.

The building will house a relocated MAXTech Agency and its 15 employees. According to its website, the company is involved in web design and development, digital marketing, and IT managed services.
The description of the cheddar and scallion biscuits at the just-opened Kitchen Social restaurant at Polaris sounds like a feast for taste buds:
“Cheddar and scallion scratch made, rolled and folded seven times creating a light, fluffy, and buttery biscuit with a turbinado sugar crust… topped with house made honey butter.” More…
