Like other central Ohio arts organizations, the Central Ohio Symphony has taken a hit with the COVID-19 pandemic. Concerts have been cancelled which bring needed revenue to the ensemble, including the Building CommUNITY concert that was to take place last week but has been postponed to as-yet-to-be-determined date.

Not to be deterred, the Symphony has since taken its performances online. For the last month, videos of full orchestra, smaller ensemble, and individual soloists have been featured. From time to time, an instructional video or two has been offered on aspects of instrumental playing.

On Thursday, the page featured a short documentary video profiling the Symphony on its 40th anniversary. The organization began in 1979 and now features as many as 65 individual musicians on stage.

The videos can be viewed here.

Of course, decreased income brings uncertainty in terms of future performances. The Central Ohio Symphony is currently accepting donations at this critical point. You can do so here.
