The Parent Programs Team (PPT) of Olentangy Local Schools is presenting “Kids, Tweens and Teens: Social Media and Technology,” a virtual, interactive forum featuring Caitlain Tully and Margeretta Carrington from The Center for Family Safety and Healing at Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

Join the Olentangy Parent Programs Team for a virtual public forum on November 18 from 7 to 8:30 PM.

This March, our world as we knew it was turned upside down. Parents became work-at-home parents AND teachers when schools were forces to closed their doors. The support systems and “villages” we once relied on became disconnected, while the unknown future changed each day. There is not a Global Pandemic chapter of the parenting handbook.

Seven months into the pandemic, the COVID-19 “new normal” continues to challenge parents. Whether you are working from home or back in an office, overseeing virtual learning or navigating hybrid attendance, everyone reacts differently to stressful situations. Program For Parenting Children With Mental Health Needs

An upcoming series of sessions offered by the local affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI Delaware & Morrow Counties), beginning later this month, is geared toward those in parenting roles for children and adolescents with mental health conditions.

NAMI Basics is a free, six-session program designed for parents and grandparents with these kinds of issues, including anxiety, ADHD, depression, ODD, etc. The aim is to give those caregivers the information, knowledge and skills they need. More…
