The current public health crisis has turned houses and phones into concert halls, as virtual performances become the norm — at least for this year.

That is certainly true in Delaware County, where performing students and more seasoned musicians are taking to the Internet to perform for what could be a worldwide audience.

Take this excerpt from Delaware Hayes High School’s fall Choral Concert. In the first piece, over 50 singers sing from their homes or other locations, and the collective sound is remarkable.

On Sunday at 7 PM, the Central Ohio Symphony will also go online to share a musical performance. Their Holiday Concert will feature 18 members of the Symphony’s string section playing seasonal classical and holiday numbers under the baton of Jaime Maroles-Matos.

Music will include performances by special guest Lindsay Uhrich as well as Morels-Matos on trombone, all from Gray Chapel on the campus of Ohio Wesleyan University.
