Ohio’s own award Safety Town, which has been providing young children safety education since it began in Mansfield in 1937, will have three locations and four dates this summer in Delaware County.

Those are:

  • Buckeye Valley Middle School – June 6-10
  • Olentangy Liberty Middle School – July 11-15 and July 18-22
  • Big Walnut General Rosecrans Elementary — July 25-29

The program will run from: 8 AM to 11 AM and from 12 Noon to 3 PM each day.

General rules about this year’s Safety Town experience run by the office of the Delaware County Sheriff are as follows:

  • Attendees must be entering Kindergarten or 1st Grade, and must be a Delaware County resident
  • Each session is limited to 65 students
  • There is a $25 participation fee; some scholarships available
  • No money is due until acceptance into program
  • Please register for only one session and time slot
  • All applicants will be notified by April 18
