A Delaware County Grand Jury has returned an indictment against 40-year-old Nathaniel E. Worsham of Galena.

Charges come after a 911 call on December 30, 2018 reporting a burglary in progress. “An elderly couple returned to their Galena home to find an unknown male inside their residence,” said Delaware County Prosecutor Carol O’Brien. “The husband held the man at gunpoint while his wife alerted authorities.”

The man, identified as Nathaniel Worsham, was detained when law enforcement arrived. At that time, he was found to be in possession of personal property from the home, and it was determined the garage door had been kicked in in order to gain entry to the residence.

The Defendant faces two charges — Burglary, a 2nd Degree Felony, and Theft, a 5th Degree Felony.

An arraignment hearing for Worsham was held on Friday morning, January 11, at which time the Defendant entered a plea of Not Guilty to the charges. A Personal Recognizance Bond was set at $500 and a Final Pre-Trial Hearing was set for March 4.
