Scammers are always finding new tricks to separate people from their money. The Delaware County District Library (DCDL) reminds the community that it will never call, email, or text asking for personal information.

The library has gathered resources to help residents recognize scams and protect themselves:

  • Consumer Reports: With a DCDL card, patrons can access the Scam Protection Guide, which covers the latest scams and how to verify legitimacy.
  • LinkedIn Learning: Cardholders can watch training videos such as Avoiding Phishing Scams and browse a full library of videos on avoiding fraud.
  • SourcePoint (for ages 55+): SourcePoint hosts regular classes, including How Tech Can Help on June 5. A full schedule is available on their online calendar.
  • FBI Resources: The FBI’s official site offers updates on emerging scams and tips to stay safe.
  • Ohio Attorney General: Residents can learn about scams targeting Ohioans and report incidents directly to the Attorney General’s office.

The Delaware County District Library emphasizes that it will never ask for personal details such as date of birth or credit card information. Anyone with questions or concerns can contact the library at 740.362.3861 or by emailing askus@delawarelibrary.org.

DCDL encourages everyone to stay alert, stay safe, and take advantage of these resources to stay one step ahead of scammers.
