On August 24 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, Boardman Arts Park will host its annual CREATE! A Community Art Making event. This gathering invites individuals of all ages and skill levels to engage in a hands-on artistic experience, designed to merge community involvement with creative exploration.

Celebrating the Elements: Earth, Wind, Fire & Water

The 2024 theme, focused on the elements of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water, will guide the day’s activities. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with these themes through various artistic and collaborative projects.

Large Collaborative Project: A central feature of this year’s event is the construction of an interactive sluice. Attendees will learn about its design and contribute by painting and assembling creative components, making it a truly communal effort.

Art Demonstrations: Throughout the day, skilled instructors will lead live demonstrations that include fire juggling, pottery throwing, wood carving, and mosaic work. Additionally, activities such as square dancing, hula dance, and blacksmithing will be showcased, offering something for everyone to enjoy.

Hands-On Crafts: For those who prefer more personal engagement, hands-on crafts will be available, including pottery decoration, car painting, and face painting, making it ideal for both children and adults.

A Family-Friendly Experience

This event is family-focused and free to the public. A variety of food, dessert, and drink options will be available on-site, with vendors like Aunt Di’s Kitchen, Ciao Cafe, and Sunny Sips providing delicious refreshments.
