This year, Delaware County is offering a Christmas Lights Recycling Program, encouraging residents to recycle old or burned-out holiday string lights instead of discarding them. This initiative is part of the “Recycle Right Holiday String Lights” program, which runs from November 15 through January 20. The program is a collaboration between Delaware County District Library, Delaware Public Health District, and other local partners such as Keep Delaware County Beautiful and the Delaware Knox Marion Morrow Solid Waste District.

This recycling effort not only helps reduce waste but also promotes the use of energy-efficient LED lights, which last longer and consume less power than traditional bulbs. By participating in this program, residents can contribute to a more sustainable holiday season.

Drop-off Locations: Residents can drop off their string lights at any of the following convenient locations:

  • Ashley Wornstaff Memorial Library
302 E. High St., Ashley, OH
  • Delaware County District Library
