A full slate of free activities is planned this fall at the shelter house stage near the mini golf course at Olentangy Caverns, 1779 Home Rd., Delaware. The lineup offers something for every age, from music and crafts to wildlife talks and pumpkin carving.

September Highlights

The season kicks off on Sunday, September 14, with the Kids Craft Market from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM. Local vendors age 17 and under will showcase their creations. At 2:00 PM, families can enjoy a puppet show with Mr. Puppet, followed by the teen rock band Short Fuse at 3:30 PM.

On Sunday, September 21, entertainer Erica Carlson and her prickly sidekick Sedgie the hedgehog will take the stage for a kids’ magic show at 3:30 PM.

Giant Pumpkin and More

Sunday, September 28, brings the return of Gus the Squash Carver. From 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, he’ll transform a 500-pound pumpkin into a work of art.

October begins with another performance by Short Fuse on Sunday, October 5, at 3:30 PM. The group is known for their energetic take on classic rock.

October Fun

A second Kids Craft Market is scheduled for Sunday, October 12, from 1:00 PM to 3:30 PM, followed by a magic show featuring Magic Nate at 3:00 PM.

On Sunday, October 19, at 2:00 PM, visitors can hear from the Ohio Wildlife Center. The program will include an educational talk and the chance to meet animal ambassadors from the state’s largest wildlife rescue center.

Ongoing Attractions

In addition to the scheduled performances, fall favorites are back for daily enjoyment through October 31. Families can try their hand at rubber duck races, join a fall scavenger hunt, and enjoy a variety of lawn games.

Looking ahead, 2025 will add even more fun with the introduction of a straw bale obstacle course and giant tube rollers. Pumpkins will also be available for purchase starting September 20.

About Olentangy Caverns

Olentangy Caverns is a family-friendly adventure spot open March 21 through October 31 each year. Alongside the fall events, visitors can explore the caverns, pan for gems, try the treasure maze, enjoy mini golf, or spend time at the petting zoo and playground. The site also hosts birthday parties and features a rock and gem shop.
