What matters to us, as residents of Ohio? National polls show strong disapproval of current policies and of the federal government overall. As citizens in a democracy, we can steer our government in a new direction.

Ohio Wesleyan University’s Constructive Dialogue Initiative and its Arneson Institute for Practical Politics and Public Affairs, in collaboration with Delaware for Good, will host a discussion-centered event February 28 to bring together members of the Central Ohio community to imagine what future policies might look like.

The Dialogue for Democracy event will be held at 3:30 PM on Saturday, February 28, in the Benes Rooms of OWU’s Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 40 Rowland Ave., Delaware. Tickets are required, and individuals may request up to two tickets per person at www.owu.edu/dialogue.

Items to be discussed include: What are our priorities for our representatives? How can we work together to develop creative solutions to the many challenges we face? Can we propose a citizen-generated Project 2029 to our leaders?

In 2024, Ohio Wesleyan collaborated with the Constructive Dialogue Institute to become one of the nation’s first colleges to provide free training for all students and employees to help them navigate difficult conversations. This work has expanded into the Constructive Dialogue Initiative to help spearhead meaningful change through respectful listening and conversation.

The Arneson Institute was founded in 1947 by Professor Ben Arneson, who had all of his students sign a pledge promising to devote time “to active and definite participation in public affairs.”

Delaware for Good is a progressive action community focused on acts of service and acts of justice in the Delaware, Ohio, community.
