As Delaware County grows, so does the need for programs that help older residents remain healthy, independent and connected to their communities. SourcePoint is inviting nonprofit organizations and government agencies to help meet that challenge by applying for grant funding for 2027. The annual grant program supports local initiatives addressing the changing needs of older adults and family caregivers across the county.
Focusing on the Most Pressing Needs
Through its strategic planning process, SourcePoint has identified seven areas in which thoughtful investment can make a meaningful difference:
- Aging in place
- Caregiver support
- Community-built environments
- Economic stability
- Healthcare access and literacy
- Mental health awareness
- Social connectedness
Together, the priorities reflect the many factors that shape quality of life as people age. Remaining safely at home, understanding healthcare options, maintaining financial stability and staying connected to others can all influence an older adult’s independence and well-being.
The priorities also recognize the important role of family caregivers, whose own health, knowledge and access to support often determine whether a loved one can continue living at home.
Building a Community Network of Care
SourcePoint’s grant program is designed to strengthen a collaborative and cost-effective network of local services. Funding is directed toward programs that fill identified gaps and complement existing resources rather than duplicate them. That approach allows available dollars to reach further while encouraging partnerships among organizations serving older adults and caregivers.
For participating agencies, the grants offer an opportunity to expand effective programs, develop new responses to emerging needs or reach residents who may not currently have access to essential support.
