Snappy’s Automotive is preparing to trade its London Road setting for a new home at Liberty Road and Belle Avenue. The next public milestone is a groundbreaking scheduled for next Friday, November 13 at 11:30 AM. The Delaware Area Chamber of Commerce’s announcement invites residents and business representatives to join the celebration, which is scheduled through 12:30 PM.

Room for a homegrown business

The project follows City Council’s approval of an incentive agreement supporting the relocation this past September.

According to The Columbus Dispatch’s September 29 reporting, plans call for an approximately 11,000-square-foot building on three acres, with construction estimated at $3.25 million. The newspaper reported that the project would preserve the business’s 10 existing positions, with another 1.5 positions anticipated. Those figures describe the project’s plans, not completed hiring.

Economic Development Director Nic Langford told council that the business was running out of industrial space. The relocation would give Snappy’s room to continue operating in Delaware rather than requiring it to find space elsewhere.

A construction milestone, not an opening day

The November ceremony marks the planned start of a new chapter, but it is not an announcement that customer service is moving that day. The Chamber’s notice does not give a completion date or an opening date for the new facility.

Visitors should also note that the event destination does not yet have a specific street address. Organizers direct attendees to the corner of Liberty Road and Belle Avenue, with parking near the baseball fields across from Liberty Castings.

Admission is free, but the Chamber asks attendees to register through its event page. Questions about the gathering can be directed to 740-369-6221.
