It is leaf collection time once again. The Village of Sunbury street crews intend to continue the leaf pick-up program as in prior years by following a specific Curbside Leaf Pick-up Schedule beginning on Monday,  October 15 and running through Thursday, December 6.

The Village will once again be divided into four (4) sections A, B, C and D as seen on the map below. Sections A and B cover the older, more heavily treed areas while Sections C and D are the newer sections of the Village.

As in prior years, every effort will be made to keep on the daily schedule. If weather or equipment failure prevents Village crews from finishing a section on a certain day, the schedule will be followed the next day and the missed section returned to as time allows. By having a dedicated work schedule, Village residents know when and where leaf pick-up is taking place on any given day. The schedule has been adjusted for holidays as well.[widgets_on_pages id=1]

This leaf season will be the third year our large, Leaf Vac unit is used to remove the leaves more efficiently. As a reminder, residents are asked not to pile leaves in the street or around mailboxes, fire hydrants, signs, utility poles, parked cars, etc. as leaves will not be hand raked by Village staff.

Please direct any comments, suggestions or concerns to the Sunbury Village offices at 740-965-2684 or e-mail to the Village Administrator, Allen Rothermel at [email protected]

Your cooperation and patience throughout this process will be much appreciated.
