It’s a new world at the renowned Perkins Observatory in southern Delaware.

Rather than shutting down while Ohio’s stay at home order is continuing to impact gatherings and travel, the observatory has decided to open up its Public Program offerings to include virtual stargazing.

Each 9:00 PM Friday evening program through May will combine telescope views with question and answer sessions, and will be available via Zoom. There is a limit of 100 virtual attendees at each event.

Don Stevens, Observatory Director, will be the host.

The current Perkins Observatory, built between 1923 and 1931, houses a 32 inch Schottland reflector telescope, one of the three largest telescopes in the state.

Zoom links can be obtained by contacting Perkins at: 740 363-1257.
