The city of Delaware is set to hold a Planning Commission meeting to discuss three major proposals, each promising significant changes to the cityscape. The meeting will be held at 6:30 PM Wednesday in City Hall Council Chambers, 1 South Sandusky Street, and will also be live-streamed under “Events” at www.delawareohio.net.
First on the agenda is a request by WEEE LLC., seeking approval for a two-year extension to their Preliminary Development Plan for the Houk Road Condominiums. The development, situated on the west side of Houk Road and just north of Greenlawn Drive, has been designed as a Planned Residential District (PRD) featuring 42 single-family attached dwelling units across 18.28 acres. This portion of the meeting will include presentations from the staff and applicant, followed by a public comment session, before the Commission takes action.
Next, G-26 Self-Storage LLC. has requested approval for a Conditional Use Permit to allow a self-service storage facility named G2G Self-Storage. This project is proposed for a site zoned as B-3 (Community Business District), spanning approximately 7.681 acres located north of future Biltmore Drive and south of Bowtown Road. The company has also submitted a Combined Preliminary and Final Development Plan for the self-storage business. The review process will include staff and applicant presentations, public comments in a public hearing format, and the Commission’s action.
Lastly, Addison Delaware LLC. has submitted a Preliminary Development Plan and a Preliminary Subdivision Plat for The Townhomes at Addison Farms. This residential project, encompassing approximately 17.523 acres, envisages 152 attached single-family units. The site, located north of future Merrick Boulevard and west of future Heritage Boulevard, is zoned as R-3 PMU (One-Family Residential District with a Planned Mixed Use Overlay District).
