In partnership with the Bureau of Criminal Investigation and the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office, the Genoa Township Police Department is releasing further information and asking for the public’s assistance in locating a suspect.

On Thursday, August 29, 2024, at approximately 3:05 p.m. Genoa Township Police responded to a call regarding a woman who had been involved in a minor rear-end collision on Red Bank Road near the Twin Bridges Boat Ramp. Upon exiting to inspect her vehicle for damage she was attacked in what is being investigated as a felonious assault. Adding further charges of robbery, the perpetrator fled with the victim’s pink Coach brand purse and wallet.

The victim was treated and released from the hospital but the search for the suspect is ongoing. The public is being asked for their help to provide information that could be used to locate the suspect who was driving a light-colored, four-door sedan. The victim described the suspect as a roughly 45-year-old white male who is tall and thin with dark hair.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Blevins at [email protected].

“Our residents care deeply for one another and the safety of their community; I am confident that with their tips and our thorough investigation, we will locate the suspect in this crime,” said Genoa Township Police Chief James McMillin. “I share their sentiments and a resolve for justice.”

Genoa Township is located in southeastern Delaware County, Ohio. Twin Bridges Boat Ramp is located on the eastern side of Hoover Reservoir.
