Special to 1808Delaware

Delaware County started its newest transit service called FLEX as a pilot in May of 2020. Riders have really enjoyed the convenience of being picked up at the curb of the location they choose.

Riders have enjoyed the service so much it has left the DCT operations staff wondering what’s next. FLEX service currently operates Monday thru Friday 6 AM to 6 PM with a base fare of $1.00. Staff is exploring the idea of operating later in the evening and also running FLEX buses on Saturdays.

To help them with the decision to add more service and at what times, DCT would like the Delaware City community to voice their opinions by completing a survey.

Operations Director, Crystal James, said “Ridership has been really good on FLEX considering the service started in a pandemic and seating is limited to three riders per bus. We want to operate even more service, helping people get to shopping, dining and especially to work, but want to make sure it’s what the residents want at the times they need.”

The survey can be found at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/TransportationneedstoworkforDelawareCity and will be open until February 28.To encourage participation in the survey, DCT is offering a drawing for a $50.00 Visa card.
