This weekend finds Christmastime fun switched into high gear across Delaware County, and one place where activities will abound will be Sunbury.

Christmas on the Square takes place this Saturday afternoon and evening from 4 PM until 8 PM.[widgets_on_pages id=1] Here is a brief overview of activities taking place in and around the center of town:

  • Holiday Open Houses by Square businesses from 4 PM to 8 PM
  • Craft and gift fair in the Chamber of Commerce office
  • Lighted Christmas Parade – kicks off at 5:30 PM
  • Special holiday events – 3rd annual Cookie & Candy Contest; Donut eating contest; model train display in Town Hall provided by the Delaware County Model Railroaders Group; ornament making; holiday family photo booth; crafts and games for smaller children under the big tent; take a picture with Comet; live woodcarving; nativity scene
  • Food and beverage vendors along Granville Street
  • Annual Sunbury Lions and Boy Scout Troop 701’s Christmas tree sale on the Square
  • Music and carolers
  • Continuation of the blanket, toy, and food drives
  • Carriage rides around the Square
  • Tree lighting at 7 PM
