This semester, Ohio Wesleyan University is continuing to publish statistics relating to the testing of students for COVID-19.

To get a true picture of the prevalence of the virus on camps, a sample of 200 students is chosen each week to receive the test. These students are selected at random, however those involved in moderate to high risk sports are being tested from one to three times each week consistent with NCAA guidelines.

Last week, no students tested positive out of 188 antigen and 137 PCR tests administered, and no students were in quarantine or isolation. The week before, 312 Antigen and 179 PCR tests produced one positive result.

The other two weeks reported in 2021 showed three and six positive tests.

The OWU initiative began in 2020, when as many as 23 positive tests took place in a single ten day period (from August 10 through August 20).

The University continues to operate according to the OWU Safe Campus Plan and other guidelines in the COVID-19 Safe Campus Guide for Spring 2021.
