With the first full week of school finished for many Delaware County schools, this Thursday was the first real opportunity to assess the level of COVID impacting local students and teachers.

As it turns out, there were new reported cases from six public or private school districts/facilities.

All in all, 29 new student cases were reported as well as 5 instances of positive COVID results for staff — for a total of 34.

In one of our last posts on 1808Delaware near the end of the 2020-2021 school year, there were 9 new cases in Delaware County schools.

Districts/facilities with reported cases included:

Buckeye Valley – 2 students
DACC – 1 student
Delaware City – 10 students
Genoa Christian Academy – 1 student
Olentangy – 15 students, 2 staff
Delaware St. Mary – 3 staff

These statistics are shared each Thursday by the Ohio Department of Health.
