The rise of summer has brought with it a substantial amount of work on the region’s roadways. Below is information from the Ohio Department of Transportation for improvement and construction projects for Delaware and Franklin Counties during the coming week.

As always, work is weather dependent.

The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Delaware County. All outlined work is weather permitting. Continuing Impacts

SR 229 Resurfacing

  • SR 229 between U.S. 23 and the Village of Ashley will have various daytime lane restrictions (7 a.m. – 7 p.m.) starting Monday, May 11 through Fall 2026.

I-71/U.S. 36/SR 37 Sunbury Parkway

  • The I-71 northbound ramp to U.S. 36/SR 37 will be reduced to one lane starting Wednesday, April 8 through Fall 2026.

State Route 315 Slip Repairs

Detour: U.S. 23 to SR 750 to SR 315 or reverse.

SR 315 between SR 750 and U.S. 23 will close starting Monday, March 30 for 120 days.

New Impacts

I-270/I-71 Interchange Improvements

  • The I-270 westbound ramp to I-71 northbound will close overnight (8p.m. – 5a.m.) starting Monday, July 6
    • Detour: I-71 northbound to Polaris Parkway to I-71 southbound
  • The I-270 eastbound ramp to I-71 northbound will close overnight (11 p.m. – 5 a.m.) Tuesday, July 7.
    • Detour: I-270 eastbound to Cleveland Ave to I-270 westbound to I-71 northbound
  • I-71 southbound at the I-270 interchange on the northside will have various overnight lane closures (8p.m. – 5a.m.) Wednesday, July 8.
  • I-71 northbound at the I-270 interchange on the northside will close overnight (8p.m. – 5a.m.) starting Monday, July 6 through Tuesday, July 7.

I-270/Easton Way Intersection Improvements

  • The I-270 southbound ramp to Easton Way will close overnight (10p.m. – 5a.m.) Monday, July 6.

Franklin & Morrow County Bridge Repairs

  • SR 288 between SR 61 and SR 19 will close starting Monday, July 6 for 4 weeks.

Continuing Impacts

I-270 Resurfacing and Bridge Rehabilitation

  • Starting Friday, April 24, the left lane of I-270 southbound at U.S. 33 will shift into a contraflow pattern. One lane of I-270 southbound and two lanes of I-270 northbound will be maintained in the existing northbound lanes. Two lanes of I-270 southbound will be maintained on the southbound side of the roadway, and the outside lane will be exit only to U.S. 33 eastbound. This traffic pattern will remain in place for 60 days.
  • The U.S. 33 westbound ramp to I-270 southbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 60 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 westbound to SR 104 to U.S. 33 eastbound to I-270 southbound
  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to I-270 northbound will close starting Wednesday, April 22 for 60 days.
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Hamilton Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to I-270 northbound

I-70 Pavement Reconstruction

  • I-70 westbound traffic will be shifted to the eastbound side of the roadway starting overnight Tuesday, December 9, 2025. Two lanes of traffic will be maintained in each direction through Fall 2026.

Far East Freeway

  • Brice Rd. over I-70 will be reduced to one lane in each direction starting Saturday, August 2, 2025. Two left turn lanes on Brice Rd. northbound to I-70 WB will be maintained.

SR 317 Maintenance

  • SR 317 (London-Groveport Rd.) between LaSalle Dr. and Canal Rd. will close starting Monday, June 22 through Friday, July 3 for bridge maintenance.
    • Detour: SR 317 to U.S. 23 to I-270 to Alum Creek Dr. or reverse.

SR 161 Noise Walls

  • SR 161 eastbound between Hamilton Rd. to New Albany will be reduced to two lanes daily (9:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.) starting Monday, July 6 through Friday, July 10
