Adam Haynes was sworn in Monday night to Delaware City Council and assumed the 2nd Ward seat left vacant by the resignation of Council member Lisa Keller.

City Attorney Natalia Harris administered Haynes the oath of office to begin the regular meeting of City Council and then he and his six fellow council members proceeded through the agenda.

Haynes was chosen Feb. 6 from a field of six. The unexpired term runs through November 2023.

Haynes teaches government at Rutherford B. Hayes High School and has been a Delaware resident for 12 years. He also is a graduate of the City of Delaware local government Citizens Academy.
