Delaware will once again pulse with the harmonious beats of the Central Ohio Symphony on the night of Monday, July 4.
At 7:30 p.m., under the open skies of Phillips Glen, the Symphony will delight the community with its 37th annual Independence Day concert. This rich tradition brings together an array of musical talent led by the adept hands of Conductor Jaime Morales-Matos, an event that leaves attendees enraptured year after year.
The concert, nestled behind the Gray Chapel on the Sandusky Street main campus of Ohio Wesleyan University, provides an idyllic setting for an evening of orchestral excellence. The location, which is just a leisurely stroll away from downtown Delaware, contributes significantly to the event’s charm and local character.
This annual event is no small affair; it’s one of Ohio’s largest free orchestra performances. With attendance in recent years swelling between 6000 and 8000, the Central Ohio Symphony’s 4th of July concert is a testament to the community’s love for music and unity. Families are encouraged to bring their chairs or a cozy blanket, transforming this concert into a delightful summer picnic.
Though lawn seating is offered free of charge, the Symphony also provides limited reserved chair seating at the front of the stage for a modest fee of $10.00.
