The Street and Path Maintenance and Repair Program continues to improve Powell’s roadways and paths. The 2023 Program is the largest investment in streets and paths in Powell’s history.

July, 2023:

The contractor, Strawser Paving, has completed reconstruction of all the paths included in the yearly program and is finishing up restoration of impacted areas. Additionally, the program has completed the roadway pavement reconstruction and milling and resurfacing of the intermediate course of asphalt of Retreat Lane, Partridge Bend, and Fox Run. The final course of asphalt will be placed on these streets in the upcoming weeks and then the contractor will progress to the remaining streets in the program.

7/31 – The paving of the final course of asphalt at the Retreat will be pushed back to Thursday-Friday this week due to rain events last week. The program is approximately 60% complete and will be finished later this fall.

June, 2023:

The shared use path along South Liberty was paved and is open for use. The aggregate base and paving for portions of the paths were completed for Seldom Seen Park Trail North, Seldom Seen Park Trail South, Village Ridge Court Trail, and Smokewood Trail.

This coming week, work will continue on the paths and work will begin on driveway approaches in the area of Retreat Lane. The program will pause briefly for Powell Festival and then will continue to move towards completion.
