The Sarah Moore Service Board invites the Delaware community to its Annual Spaghetti Dinner on Monday, October 21 at the Delaware Eagles located at 127 E. William Street. This event, which will run from 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM, is the Service Board’s primary fundraiser, ensuring continued support for the residents and staff of Ohio Living Sarah Moore. With food, community, and a chance to win prizes, it’s set to be a memorable evening for a good cause.

A Legacy of Care

Founded in 1892 by a group of compassionate women from Delaware, Ohio, the Sarah Moore Home started as a vision to create a safe, nurturing space for elderly residents. Over the years, this vision grew into the thriving community known today as Ohio Living Sarah Moore, providing residents with high-quality care and attention.

In 1978, the Sarah Moore Home Board expanded its operations to form the Service Board, with a mission to oversee the “wants and needs” of the residents and staff. The Service Board has remained a vital part of the Ohio Living Sarah Moore community, providing hands-on assistance, organizing activities, and addressing resident needs that go beyond basic care.

An Evening of Food, Fun, and Fundraising

The Annual Spaghetti Dinner is more than just a meal—it’s a community event. For $10 per adult and $5 for children aged 6-12, attendees will enjoy a traditional spaghetti dinner featuring hearty portions of spaghetti and meatballs. Children under 6 can attend for free, making the event an affordable option for families looking to support a local cause.

Adding to the evening’s excitement, a basket raffle will be held, offering guests a chance to win a variety of prizes. The raffle is always a crowd-pleaser and a great way to raise additional funds for the board’s ongoing efforts.

Supporting Ohio Living Sarah Moore

The funds raised through the Annual Spaghetti Dinner are essential for continuing the Service Board’s mission. These contributions directly impact the lives of Sarah Moore’s residents, helping to cover costs for outings, special activities, and ensuring a high quality of life within the home. The funds also help support the dedicated staff members, ensuring that their hard work and care can continue.

Those unable to attend the event in person can still support the cause through carry-out options. By calling (740) 816-2164, diners can pick up meals to go, although carry-out guests are reminded that there will be no free meals for carry-out orders.

A Community Tradition

The Annual Spaghetti Dinner has become a staple of Delaware’s fall season, bringing together long-time supporters, friends, and family members of Sarah Moore residents. It’s an opportunity to give back while sharing a delicious meal and enjoying the warmth of the local community.

The Sarah Moore Service Board encourages all Delaware residents to join in this important fundraising effort, celebrating a legacy of care that spans over a century. Mark your calendars, bring your appetite, and help continue the mission that began in 1892.
