Drivers in Dublin will notice smoother traffic flow at a busy intersection this week. The new roundabout at Avery Road, Rings Road, and Cara Road is now open, marking a major milestone in a project designed to improve safety and modernize city infrastructure.
More Than Just a Roundabout
While the roundabout is the most visible change, the project includes a wide range of improvements. Crews are relocating private utilities, building new sanitary sewer mains, and installing stormwater facilities such as mainlines, structures, and a retention pond. The work also brings new water mains and hydrants, modifications to existing water systems, and sidewalk and shared-use paths, including a pedestrian bridge.
Beyond the roadway itself, the project will finish with street lighting, traffic signage, final grading, and landscaping. These upgrades are meant not only to improve traffic safety but also to strengthen essential services for nearby homes and businesses.
What Drivers Can Expect
Though the roundabout is open, construction isn’t over. Intermittent lane closures on Avery and Rings roads will continue, managed by flaggers as crews complete utility and surface work.
The City of Dublin emphasized that the improvements are part of a broader commitment to providing efficient services and maintaining the community’s reputation as a desirable place to live.
Looking Ahead
The project is expected to wrap up in October 2025. Until then, drivers may encounter minor disruptions, but the long-term goal is clear: a safer, better-connected, and more sustainable roadway network for Dublin residents.
