There’s little question that youth sports are big business in Central Ohio, and in Delaware County in particular.
At the same time that a large multi-sports facility is being constructed to replace the former Sears store at Polaris Fashion Place mall, and a short time after the announcement was made that Planet Oasis development was being re-launched near the intersection of I71 and Routes 36 and 37, another major sports development has reportedly been brought back to life.
Columbus Business First reported on Tuesday that the $20 million “Project Grand Slam” will be a 57 acre complex that will include “…six tournament style baseball diamonds, an indoor arena with stadium seating, and a variety of amenities for various sports.”
The site is near the Evans Farm urban development in Orange Township, off of Lewis Center Road.
Financing delays have ended, and Orange Township Trustees gave their final approval on Monday night.
