Boardman Arts Park will turn into an easygoing outdoor music venue this Sunday as the Delaware Music Series continues with an evening of local sound, summer food, and room to relax.

Part 2 of the series is set for Sunday, June 14, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM, featuring two local bands and a casual atmosphere designed for families, friends, and anyone looking for a low-key way to enjoy a June evening in Delaware. The music begins at 6:00 PM with Jason Tysl, whose set will include rock, Americana, modern country, and original songs. At 7:30 PM, Of Sound Minds will take the stage with favorites from the 1960s and 1970s.

Bring A Blanket, Bring A Picnic

The concert is designed to be as flexible as it is festive. Guests can enjoy treats from Ciao Cafe during the event, or bring their own picnic, snacks, and drinks. Attendees may also bring their own alcoholic beverages.

Admission is pay what you can, with a suggested donation of $10 per group. RSVPs and donations are being accepted online.

More Than Music

The summer calendar at Boardman Arts Park also includes its ongoing outdoor yoga series, held on the first Sunday of each month through October 4 at 9:30 AM. The donation-based, all-levels flow class is open to participants age 14 and older, with minors required to attend with an adult. The suggested donation is $10 per person, and registration is open for the July 5 class.

Another family-friendly event is coming Friday, July 10, when the Park hosts Princesses, Superheroes & K-Pop Stars from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The free community event will feature music, dancing, an interactive stage show, character meet-and-greet photo opportunities, food and beverages for purchase, and art vendors. That event is free for children and families thanks to a donation and support from the Delaware County District Library, which is serving as crown sponsor. RSVPs are requested to help organizers plan.

For now, Sunday’s concert offers a simple summer formula: local music, outdoor space, good food, and a chance to settle in at the Park as the weekend winds down.
