Delaware County residents will soon have a new and convenient way to reach Austin, Texas. Beginning June 7, 2026, Delta Air Lines will launch a daily nonstop flight from John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) to Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS).

For those living in Delaware County, the route adds to the growing list of nonstop options available close to home, reducing the need for lengthy connections through other hubs.

Connecting Two Growing Regions

Both Central Ohio and Central Texas are experiencing rapid growth, with booming economies, expanding tech industries, and vibrant cultural scenes. The nonstop connection is designed to serve not only business travelers but also families, students, and leisure travelers who want to experience the music, food, and innovation Austin is known for.

The flights will be operated on Delta’s Embraer 175 aircraft, offering three cabin choices—Delta First, Delta Comfort, and Delta Main. The aircraft is designed for a more comfortable ride, with larger windows and a quieter cabin.

Opportunities for Business and Leisure

For Delaware County’s workforce, which increasingly includes professionals in tech, education, and manufacturing, the direct flight makes doing business in Austin easier. It also provides a smooth path for Austin-area visitors heading to Central Ohio, including the growing corporate campuses and attractions in Delaware County.

Leisure travelers will benefit as well, with Austin’s reputation as a cultural and recreational destination providing fresh vacation opportunities without the hassle of connecting flights.

A Sign of Regional Momentum

The announcement is the latest sign of growth for Central Ohio air service, and Delaware County stands to benefit as one of the fastest-growing counties in the state. With easy access to the airport and a population that frequently travels for both business and leisure, local residents are well-positioned to take advantage of this new route.

Daily service between Columbus and Austin begins just in time for the summer travel season in June 2026, opening a direct link between two regions on the rise.
