The City of Delaware is rolling out the red, white, and blue carpet for a festive Independence Day celebration on Friday, July 4, and you’re invited to be part of this all-day, family-friendly tradition!

🎉 Start the Day with Patriotism: The Independence Day Parade – 11:00 AM

The day kicks off in grand style with the Independence Day Parade, stepping off at 11:00 a.m. from the Liberty Street gate at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. The parade winds its way down Sandusky Street through the heart of downtown before turning onto Wilmer and South Henry streets.

Bring your flags, wear your red, white, and blue, and line the streets to cheer on local floats, marching bands, and community groups as Delaware proudly celebrates America’s birthday.

🎶 Symphony Under the Stars: Central Ohio Symphony Concert – 7:30 PM

Settle in for one of Delaware’s most beloved traditions—the Central Ohio Symphony’s free outdoor concert on the picturesque Phillips Glen lawn at Ohio Wesleyan University.

Starting at 7:30 p.m., this concert brings together families and friends for an unforgettable evening of music. Be sure to pack your blankets, lawn chairs, and a sense of community spirit!

🎆 Grand Finale Fireworks – 10:00 PM

As night falls, the sky above Delaware will light up with a dazzling fireworks show at 10:00 p.m. The display will launch from the City’s Cherry Street property and can be best viewed along Henry Street and the OWU athletic fields.

Before the show, enjoy a bite from local food truck vendors who will be serving up festival favorites on Hayes Street starting at 5:00 p.m.
