Parents of small children know the sheer magic in getting a short breather while knowing that their children are safe and happy.

On a stretch of Commerce Drive in Sunbury, tucked beside Eagle Auto Repair, there’s a storefront built on a simple idea: kids need room to imagine, and parents need room to exhale.

Little Lemons Play Café, which opened on February 24, is the kind of place that only happens when someone has lived the problem. Designed by a mom of two, it blends a safe, thoughtfully designed play space for children ages 6 months to 10 years with a café environment that feels adult-friendly. Not an afterthought. Not a folding chair in the corner. A real place to sit, sip, work, or talk while still keeping your child in sight.

How It Works

The model is straightforward. A daily play pass costs $15 per child and covers a two-hour session. Babies under 6 months are free. Socks are required for everyone, which keeps the environment clean and comfortable. If you forget, they have you covered.

Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-booking is recommended. That’s a quiet signal that the space can fill up, especially on colder days or school breaks. For families who plan to visit regularly, the membership structure makes financial sense. The monthly membership runs $100 per child and includes up to eight visits per month. It also adds tangible perks: 10 percent off events and camps, a monthly “bring a friend” pass, member-only events, and a complimentary medium coffee.

The annual membership, priced at $1,000 per child, builds on those benefits and extends a 10 percent discount to birthday parties and private events.

More Than Open Play

Little Lemons also leans into private events. Birthday parties and group celebrations can be hosted on-site, with flexible space options designed to accommodate different group sizes. For parents, that solves another familiar challenge: finding a venue that is both fun for kids and manageable for adults.

Instead of renting a noisy hall and juggling vendors, the experience stays contained in a space already designed for children.

Why Spaces Like This Matter

Indoor play cafés fill a specific niche in growing communities like Sunbury. They’re not daycares. They’re not chaotic arcade-style attractions. They sit somewhere in between — structured enough to feel safe, relaxed enough to feel social. For young families, that combination matters.

Parents with toddlers often face a daily calculus: where can I take my child that won’t require me to hover every second, and won’t leave me exhausted? A well-designed play café answers that question directly. Kids climb, build, pretend, and burn energy. Parents connect, answer emails, or simply enjoy a quiet cup of coffee.
