Downtown Powell is in the middle of a transformation, with infrastructure improvements moving forward alongside the construction of a new COhatch location at 50 E. Olentangy Street. The project combines public investment with private development, aimed at strengthening the downtown core and making it more welcoming for residents, professionals, and visitors.

Sidewalk and Parking Improvements

Crews are currently installing a new public sidewalk in front of COhatch on Olentangy Street, with work expected to wrap up in the coming weeks. Utility upgrades are being completed before the sidewalk opens, and the project also includes the addition of new on-street public parking.

City officials describe this as part of a broader effort to improve safety, walkability, and accessibility downtown, while preparing the area for the wave of new activity that COhatch will bring.

COhatch Development Underway

COhatch Powell is making significant progress, with an anticipated opening in late 2025. The 13,900-square-foot, three-story building will include 35 private office suites, corporate suites, coworking areas, and state-of-the-art meeting and event spaces.

A highlight of the project will be the Lani Rooftop Lounge, a public rooftop bar and lounge designed as a destination for dining, networking, and community gatherings. The development will also feature a restored historic “member house,” blending preservation with modern amenities.

Features and Community Impact

The COhatch project is designed with sustainability in mind, using mass timber construction for both energy efficiency and architectural distinction. Its presence is expected to stimulate further redevelopment in Powell’s downtown, with city leaders calling it a “transformative development” for the community.

By combining new workspaces with public gathering spaces, COhatch is positioned to become an anchor of downtown revitalization. Its opening, paired with the ongoing sidewalk and parking improvements, underscores Powell’s commitment to building a downtown that is vibrant, accessible, and future-focused.
