Families across central Ohio are invited to a special event designed to help students with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans take their next big step toward higher education.

The College Seminar on Disability Services will be held Tuesday, October 28 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Olentangy Orange High School. The evening is free to attend, and no registration is required.

What to Expect

The program opens with a panel discussion from 6:00 PM to 6:45 PM, where college disability service professionals will share practical guidance on topics such as:

  • Accessing accommodations in college
  • Key differences between high school and college support
  • Documentation requirements
  • Strategies for self-advocacy and independence
  • Academic and campus resources available to students

College Fair Connection

From 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM, families can visit with local college representatives during the College Fair. Representatives will explain the disability support services their schools offer, giving students and parents a direct opportunity to ask questions and gather information.

Who Can Attend

The seminar is open to parents, guardians, students, educators, and service providers from all school districts. Transition coordinators from area schools encourage families to take advantage of this chance to prepare for the transition to college life.

The event is sponsored by district transition programs from Dublin, Grandview, Hilliard, Olentangy, Worthington, and Upper Arlington.

For more details, families are encouraged to contact their school district’s Transition Coordinator.
