On Saturday, September 27, neighbors and friends in Sunbury will come together for a simple but meaningful mission: keeping their community beautiful. The Sunbury Litter Clean-Up will take place from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, beginning at Sunbury United Methodist Church, 100 West Cherry Street.

A Walk with Purpose

The event is more than just picking up trash. Volunteers will join in a walk along Prairie Run, gathering litter to help preserve the natural beauty of the area. Organizers say it’s a chance to enjoy the outdoors, meet fellow community members, and make a visible difference in just two hours.

How to Get Involved

All supplies will be provided by Keep Delaware County Beautiful, so volunteers only need to bring themselves and wear close-toed shoes. Families, friends, and groups are encouraged to attend. Registration is required and can be completed online at this link.

Community Partnerships

The clean-up is hosted in partnership with the City of Sunbury, the Delaware Soil and Water Conservation District, and Keep Delaware County Beautiful. Together, these groups are working to build awareness about local conservation and create hands-on opportunities for residents to care for their community.

Making an Impact

Organizers hope for a strong turnout, noting that every volunteer makes a difference. “Events like this help protect our waterways and green spaces, while also building pride in our community,” a spokesperson shared.

For those looking to give back in a simple and rewarding way, Sunbury Litter Clean-Up Day offers the perfect opportunity.
