Frontier Encampment This Weekend In Powell

Step back in time a bit this weekend as the Powell Liberty Historical Society presents a unique program showcasing how soldiers and settlers alike lived off of the Ohio countryside in the first years of settlement.

The “Frontier Encampment” will take place on Saturday, October 2 from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Martin-Perry House in downtown Powell (103 East Olentangy Street). There, historian and reenactor R.J. Basista will set up a traditional frontier encampment for viewing.

All day Saturday presenters will explore our past from the Revolutionary War into the Ohio frontier and beyond. Included will be something for all ages – information, demonstrations, and hand on activities. More…

Scouts To Present Historical Society Program

This Monday, two young people active in Scouting will present a program for the Powell Liberty Historical Society.

Begnning at 7 PM at the Martin-Perry House, Abbie Ogilbee and Gavin Bull will present the basics of Scouting and a description of what each is currently undertaking as they pursue the highest levels in their respective programs — the Gold Award for Abbie and the Eagle Award for Gavin. More…

Join Around The Campfire And Relive Ohio’s Past

This weekend, experience an ‘Ohio Frontier Encampment’ courtesy of the Powell-Liberty Historical Society.

For the second year in a row, R.J. Basista, professional reenactor, will set up an encampment on the Martin Perry House yard. R.J. will be on the grounds on Friday evening for campfire activities, and on Saturday for a whole day of exploring our past from the Revolutionary War, into the Ohio frontier and beyond. More…

Take A Walking Tour Of Downtown Powell
