Last week. Westerville City Council reversed a decision of its Planning Commission to green light a new commercial development along Polaris Parkway in southern Delaware County.
The 3.5 acre site borders Meridian Way in the Westar area of the City.
The matter had been before the Commission at meetings in October and December. Revisions had been made after the first meeting to address some of the concerns expressed, which included the nearness of the two buildings to a ravine, the length of a drive through lane, signage, and landscaping.
The applicant’s representative noted at the Council meeting that the development plans met code requirements and the Westar preliminary plan. No other person spoke for or against the proposal.
With Council’s decision, the Louisville, Kentucky developer will move ahead to construct almost 24,000 square feet of retail, which include two restaurant spaces.
