The Powell Police Department is hosting the annual Citizens Police Academy, beginning Wednesday, March 13.

The Academy will run from 7-9 PM every Wednesday for 10 weeks. Participants will gain insight on crime awareness and prevention while receiving an inside look into the Powell Police Department.

Topics to be covered include:-

  • Criminal and traffic laws
  • Crime prevention and awareness
  • Firearm safety and range time
  • Use of force
  • Fire safety
  • Crime scene investigations
  • Optional ride-along
