The Delaware County Foundation has announced more than $685,000 in Community Grants for 2025, supporting dozens of nonprofit and public organizations that serve residents across the county. The awards reflect one of the Foundation’s largest annual investments in local programs, touching nearly every corner of community life, from health care and food access to arts, education, and environmental stewardship.
The funding comes through the Foundation’s competitive Community Grants program, which is designed to respond to donor intent while addressing evolving needs across Delaware County.
How the Community Grants program works
The Community Grants program is open to nonprofit organizations and government entities whose projects directly benefit Delaware County residents. Individuals are not eligible to apply, and funding generally does not support political activity, annual fundraising campaigns, or debt repayment.
Rather than drawing from a single pool of money, grants are awarded through multiple funding streams tied to donor-directed funds. This structure allows the Foundation to support a wide range of causes while honoring donor priorities. Grant awards typically range from $2,500 to $20,000 and are distributed in several waves throughout the year as funds become available.
A wide reach across services and missions
The 2025 grant recipients reflect the breadth of needs across the county. Organizations supporting basic human services, health care, youth development, arts and culture, environmental education, and community enrichment all received funding. Several well-known regional organizations appear alongside smaller, mission-focused nonprofits, illustrating how the program blends scale with local impact. Together, these groups provide services ranging from food access and housing support to mental health care, arts programming, animal welfare, and educational enrichment.

Why this matters locally
Taken together, the 2025 grants show how philanthropy in Delaware County often works quietly but broadly, strengthening systems that many residents rely on every day. The funding supports early intervention, crisis response, enrichment opportunities, and long-term community stability.
The Foundation’s approach also spreads support across geography and mission, ensuring that arts organizations, social service providers, educational programs, and health-focused nonprofits all have a seat at the table. For nonprofits considering future applications, the Community Grants program remains one of the most accessible funding pathways in the county, particularly for projects with clear local impact and measurable outcomes.
