When internationally distributed newspaper 24/7 Wall Street choose its criteria for the Best Cities in which to live among some 20,000 competitors nationwide, a Delaware County Community was well-positioned.

The list looked at American communities and measured them according to a weighted index of over two dozen individual measures. When that was done, the city of Powell finished in fifteenth position.[widgets_on_pages id=1]

According to the article, “Like many cities on this list, Powell, Ohio is located only a short distance from a major city… Likely thanks in part to the area’s healthy economy, the city’s residents also tend to have high incomes. More than half of Powell households earn more than $130,000 a year, and the city’s poverty rate of just 0.3 percent is also nearly the lowest of any city in the country.”

Powell is no stranger to such lists. In July 2005, CNN Money and Money magazine ranked Powell 18th on its list of the 100 Best Places to Live in the United States
