Central Ohio diners have a new date to mark on their calendars. From November 3 to November 15, the region will host the first-ever Columbus Restaurant Weeks, a two-week event built entirely around locally owned restaurants. Three-course prix fixe dinners are priced at $39, plus tax and gratuity, making it an easy opportunity to try something new without guesswork on cost.

This is a project of Columbus Independents, a group of locally owned restaurants that want to highlight the culinary diversity of the metro area. Their goal is straightforward: drive diners toward the neighborhood places that define the Columbus food scene and help those restaurants head into winter with momentum.

Right from the start, there is a local connection for our readers. Two participating restaurants are located in the 1808Delaware coverage area:

  • Local Roots, 15 East Olentangy Street, Powell
  • Z Cucina, 6584 Riverside Drive, Dublin

Both are popular with Delaware County diners, making Restaurant Weeks a close-to-home option for residents who want to experience the event without driving downtown.

What Makes It Different

Restaurant Weeks exist in many cities, but Columbus has never had one dedicated exclusively to independent restaurants. This isn’t a marketing push by large hospitality groups. It’s the chefs, owners, and kitchens who put their names on the door.

Participating restaurants range from long-established fine dining, such as The Refectory, to neighborhood favorites like La Chantelaine, to smaller specialty places including Cambridge Tea House. Each venue builds its own three-course menu, and many are using the event to showcase new dishes or seasonal ingredients.

How to Make a Reservation

There is no central reservation system. To participate:

  1. Visit columbusrestaurantweeks.com
  2. Browse restaurants and view their prix fixe menus
  3. Select a restaurant
  4. Book directly through the reservation link or call the restaurant

Many locations use platforms like OpenTable. Others take reservations only by phone. Since popular spots book quickly, reserving sooner rather than later is smart.

Why It Matters

For restaurants, early November can be a quiet stretch. Outdoor dining is done, and holiday traffic hasn’t started. A prix fixe menu gives restaurants steady business and gives diners a reason to explore places they may have been meaning to try.

For diners, it’s a chance to experience some of the area’s highest-quality kitchens without the uncertainty of price or menu planning.

And for the independent restaurants at the heart of Columbus’s food identity, it’s a moment to shine.

How to Take Part

Pick a restaurant, make a reservation, and enjoy a three-course dinner for $39 from November 3 to November 15.

If you visit Local Roots in Powell or Z Cucina in Dublin, we’d love to hear about it. Send a photo of your favorite course or tell us what surprised you most.

Menus and reservation links are available at columbusrestaurantweeks.com.
