Ohio Wesleyan University and its Richard M. Ross Art Museum have announced a full lineup of public events for November 2025. From Shakespeare and student recitals to films, concerts, and thought-provoking exhibits, the month offers a rich mix of performances and programs across campus. Unless otherwise noted, admission is free.

Shakespeare’s “Macbeth” Takes the Stage

The month begins with one of literature’s most gripping tragedies as OWU’s Department of Performing Arts presents Macbeth, directed by Bradford Sadler. Performances run at 7:30 PM October 30 through November 1, with matinees at 2:00 PM on November 1 and 2. The production takes place on the Main Stage in Chappelear Drama Center, 45 Rowland Avenue. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $5 for seniors, and free for OWU students and employees through owuperformingarts.ludus.com.

Voices Unite at A Cappellooza

On November 1 at 7:00 PM, the annual A Cappellooza showcase will fill Gray Chapel in University Hall with harmonies from groups representing OWU, Denison, Kent State, Oberlin, and Wooster. Boston-based headliner Ball in the House brings its R&B and pop sound to the stage, having opened for acts including The Beach Boys and Blondie. Tickets are $5 at the door, with free entry for OWU students, staff, and faculty. Doors open at 6:30 PM.

Film, Words, and Music

The university’s Hispanic Film Festival continues November 4 at 7:00 PM with the Brazilian film Alice Júnior, followed by a discussion in Room 312 of the R.W. Corns Building. The festival concludes November 12 at 7:00 PM with La Suprema from Colombia, featuring a live conversation with director Felipe Holguín Caro.

On November 5 at 4:15 PM, OWU alumna Martha Park returns to campus for a reading and signing of her essay collection World Without End in the Milligan Room of Slocum Hall. Her work explores faith, motherhood, and the climate crisis through richly illustrated essays.

Music lovers will find plenty to enjoy, with free recitals and concerts throughout the month. Highlights include the student recital on November 6 at 8:00 PM, the Choral Art Society concert on November 9 at 3:00 PM, and the Park Avenue Jazz Band on November 13 at 8:00 PM, all in Gray Chapel or Sanborn Hall. The Orchesis Dance Company also takes the stage November 14–15 with performances at 8:00 PM and a matinee at 2:00 PM.

Stargazing and Economic Outlooks

Friday night skywatches at Perkins Observatory continue November 7, 14, and 21 at 8:00 PM, offering telescope viewing and tours depending on the weather. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.

Those interested in economics can attend OWU’s 2025 Economic Outlook Conference at 7:30 PM November 18 in Hamilton-Williams Campus Center. Experts from Regionomics, The Ohio State University, and the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland will discuss current trends and take audience questions.

Art, Environment, and Community at the Ross

The Richard M. Ross Art Museum continues its year-long exploration of environmental themes with three ongoing exhibits. Sprawl: OWU Faculty Show runs through December 14, showcasing new work by art professors Kristina Bogdanov, Frank Hobbs, and Jeff Nilan. Through March 29, 2026, visitors can experience Demarcations and Delineations by Michelle Stitzlein, which transforms recycled materials into textured, abstract landscapes, and Our Changing Landscape: Life in the Anthropocene, a group exhibition exploring humanity’s impact on the planet.

The museum’s “Art and the Environment” series continues November 18 at 6:30 PM with Carolina Barbosa, Ph.D., assistant professor of Environment and Sustainability, presenting “Citizen Science and Open Data.”

Families are invited to stop by the Ross on November 16 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM for the free Pinecone Turkey craft and storytime event, perfect for all ages.

The Ross Art Museum, 60 S. Sandusky Street, is open Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM; Thursday from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM; and Sunday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. It will be closed November 22–December 1 for Thanksgiving break.
