Ohio Wesleyan University has chosen 21 first-year students as its 2025-2026 Woltemade Economics and Business Fellows, one of the most competitive honors the university awards each fall.

The fellowships are part of the Woltemade Center for Economics, Business and Entrepreneurship and are designed for students with strong academic records and a clear interest in business-related fields. Fellows are paired with faculty advisers, peer mentors, and eventually professional mentors, giving them a support system that lasts through all four years at OWU.

Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

As part of the program, fellows take part in a first-year seminar taught by the entire Economics and Business faculty, receive a $250 scholarship in their second semester, and build immediate connections with professors and peers. In their sophomore year, they travel on a fully paid, faculty-led trip to a major U.S. city, such as New York, to meet with distinguished Ohio Wesleyan alumni and professionals working in business or government.

Eligibility for the program requires a high school GPA of at least 3.25, an application indicating an interest in fields such as economics, finance, international business, or accounting, and a personal interview with OWU faculty.
