Students and families looking for practical, real-world options after graduation will have a chance to explore them all in one evening at the upcoming Next Steps Expo. The event takes place Wednesday, November 19, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Delaware Area Career Center.

A Different Kind of Career Event

This isn’t your typical career fair. The Expo brings together local employers, apprenticeship programs, and hands-on training providers whose opportunities often fly under the radar. Many of these pathways offer short-term training, earn-and-learn models, or direct routes into high-demand fields without requiring a four-year degree.

It’s designed for students who want clarity about their next move and for families who want to see what options exist beyond the usual college-only track.

What You Can Expect

Visitors will be able to meet professionals and explore openings in fields including:

• Advanced manufacturing
• Automotive technology
• Education
• Healthcare
• Information technology
• Skilled trades
• Public safety

During the two-hour event, attendees can ask questions directly, compare programs, and take home concrete next steps. Whether it’s an apprenticeship, a short bootcamp, or a certification that leads straight into the workforce, the format makes it easy to find possibilities that may not surface elsewhere.

Open to Students and Young Adults

The Expo welcomes juniors, seniors, and young adults across the region, regardless of whether they’ve attended DACC. Parents and supporters are encouraged to join as well.

Registration

Those interested can register online through the Delaware Area Career Center’s event page.
