Families living within the Westerville City School District can now begin registering children for kindergarten for the 2026–27 school year.

Children who will be five years old on or before August 1, 2026 are eligible to register. Kindergarten is required before entering first grade, and even families with older students already in the district need to complete a new registration for their incoming kindergartener.

How to Register

Everything starts with the district’s online application. At the end of that form, families choose a review date, which lets enrollment specialists know the application is ready to check. A specialist will follow up and guide families through the remaining steps.

Details and links are available at wcsoh.org/kindergarten.

Program Options

Westerville offers two kindergarten formats:

Half-Day Kindergarten

Open to all students, though not every elementary building will have a half-day section. Placement depends on enrollment.

All-Day Kindergarten

A fee-based program offered through a lottery. Tuition assistance is available for qualifying families.

To enter the All-Day Kindergarten lottery, families must first complete the standard online registration. The deadline is 4:00 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026. All requests submitted between November 10, 2025 and February 27, 2026 will be included. More information is posted at wcsoh.org/ADK.

Not Sure Which Elementary School You’re Zoned For?
