Sunbury City Council will consider a handful of items at its Wednesday night meeting before adjourning into an executive session.

First, Council is being asked to provide authorization to apply for and accept a loan for the planning, design, and construction of wastewater facilities. The loan will come from the Water Pollution Control Loan Fund, and the City has designated a dedicated repayment source for the loan.

Additionally, there are two ordinances being considered: the first, Ordinance 2022.50, is currently tabled and deals with the approval of a commercial and industrial site plan for storage buildings at 601 W Cherry St. The second, Ordinance 2023.06, pertains to the demolition and disposal of real property at 63 South Columbus Street and 75 South Columbus, and an emergency declaration has been made in this regard.

Money for these demolitions was received as part of the Ohio Department of Development’s Demolition and Site Revitalization Program.

Furthermore, City Council will hold a Strategic Planning Retreat to discuss the purchase of property for public purposes in an Executive Session. This session is held pursuant to ORC 121.22(G), which allows for the consideration of such matters when the premature disclosure of information could provide an unfair advantage to an individual whose interests conflict with the general public.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 PM in Council Chambers at the Town Hall.
