According to documents, the proposed phase one of the Ohio Steel Industries expansion project at 100 Colomet Dr. in Delaware involves constructing a new rail spur to access the existing railroad track, a new gravel area for outdoor storage, new silos, and more. Phase Two will include either building a new 36,000-square-foot facility or adding onto the existing building, along with additional parking spaces if needed.

Ohio Steel plans to employ 52 full-time workers, including most of the former Chroma Color workers previously employed at the Delaware location, with an average annual salary of $52,000. These new jobs are expected to generate $2.6 million in payroll and $48,100 in new income taxes for the city each year.

The company was founded in 1958 and employs nearly 200 people across its production, warehousing, and rental real estate facilities, totaling over 300,000 square feet.
