By the end of August, mailboxes across Westerville will carry a familiar sign of the season: the September/October Community Guide. It’s the City’s go-to handbook for what’s new—from construction updates to concerts—and a buffet of classes and events curated by the Parks & Recreation team.

Where to Find a Copy

Most residents will receive the Guide at home. A limited number of print copies will also be stocked at the Westerville Community Center, 350 N. Cleveland Ave., for anyone who prefers to pick one up in person. Can’t wait for the mail? You can view the Guide online and browse the full slate of offerings here.

What’s Inside

Think of the Guide as a two-month sampler of Westerville life. You’ll find youth and adult sports, arts and fitness programs, special events, and updates on City projects. Whether you’re planning a toddler’s first swim lesson, booking a weekend shelter, or training for your next 5K, the listings make it simple to find the right fit.

Registration Timeline

To keep things smooth and fair, registration opens in waves. Mark your calendar with these dates:

• Senior Center Program Pass holders: Thursday, September 4 at 12:00 PM (online and in person at the Community Center)
• Resident online registration: Friday, September 5 at 12:00 PM
• Resident in-person registration: Saturday, September 6 at 8:00 AM
• Open online registration: Sunday, September 7 at 12:00 PM
• Open in-person registration: Monday, September 8 at 8:00 AM

Resident Rate Reminder

Before registering, Westerville residents should verify residency to receive the resident rate. Call the Community Center at (614) 901-6500 for quick verification and details on accepted documentation.

Ready to Book?

When you’re set, head to the online reservation page to register for classes or reserve a shelter or other facility. Popular programs fill fast—those noon openings can be lively—so consider building a short wish list in advance.

A Few Tips to Get the Most From the Guide

• Skim first, star later: Flip through the Guide and flag anything that sparks interest, then compare times and locations before registration opens.
• Note day/time options: Many classes repeat across days or sessions—handy if you’re juggling school, work, and practice schedules.
• Have a backup: If your top choice fills, a second pick ready to go can save you a spot in the same season.

This fall, the Community Guide is your map to moving, making, and meeting neighbors. Keep it handy on the counter—or bookmarked on your phone—and let it lead you into a new season of Westerville moments.
